An Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper arrested a 38-year old man early Wednesday morning after finding over 10 pounds of marijuana in a vehicle during a traffic stop on Highway 217 off Interstate 5. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.

On January 4, 2012 at approximately 12:41 a.m. an OSP senior trooper stopped a rented 2012 Mazda four-door displaying Oregon license plates northbound on Highway 217 after observing a traffic violation on Interstate 5. During the stop, the driver was identified as JOSHUA CHRISTOPHER KING, age 38. KING previously lived in the Welches area but has no confirmed permanent address.

Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led to the seizure of over 10 pounds of marijuana found inside the car’s trunk. Estimated value of the seized marijuana is $25,000.

KING was arrested without incident and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana.
