Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into last Friday morning's single vehicle crash on Interstate 5 north of Rogue River that resulted in the death of a 29-year old Grants Pass-area man who died Monday night at a Springfield-area hospital.
On January 28, 2011 at approximately 3:06 a.m., a GMC Yukon driven by JESSE D. MAURER, age 29, from Grants Pass, was northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 47 when MAURER lost control, rolling the vehicle multiple times. The vehicle came to rest on all four wheels off the freeway's east shoulder.
MAURER was transported by ambulance to Three Rivers Hospital with serious injuries and later transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield. The Lane County Medical Examiner advised OSP that MAURER died Monday night, February 1st, at the hospital.
