Update: Autopsy Related to Snake River Correctional Institution Inmate's Death Investigation

Dr. Larry Lewman, Deputy State Medical Examiner from the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office, performed an autopsy Thursday, February 9, 2012 on Michael Clarence Hagen, age 28, a Snake River Correctional Institution inmate who died after he was found unresponsive in his cell February 2nd. Dr. Lewman reported the cause of death was from head injuries and the manner of death was homicide.
 
Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigations Division is continuing the investigation. The suspect in this case is Hagen’s cell mate whose name is withheld at this time pending the ongoing investigation.
 
Upon completion of the investigation, Malheur County District Attorney Dan Norris said he will present the case before the Malheur County Grand Jury for consideration of charges.
