The Oregon Department of Veteran's Affairs building in Salem was temporarily evacuated Thursday morning following a telephoned bomb threat. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers searched the interior and exterior for about one hour without finding anything suspicious.
 
According to OSP Lieutenant Dave Mazour, on February 12, 2009 at 10:10 a.m. a telephoned bomb threat was received and OSP was notified. Department of Veteran's Affairs employees were evacuated as OSP troopers checked the building and exterior. Employees were allowed back into the building at approximately 11:15 a.m.
