OSP Bend Recruit Trooper Receives Award During DPSST Basic Police Training Graduation

An Oregon State Police (OSP) recruit trooper assigned to the Bend office received an award today during the graduation of 44 police recruits representing state, county, and city public safety agencies in Oregon. The graduation marked the conclusion of 16 weeks of integrated basic police training for nine OSP recruit troopers, 25 city police officers, and 10 county sheriff officers from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) in Salem which provides statutorily-required training.

 
OSP Recruit Trooper ROBERT OLSON, age 31, who is assigned to the OSP Bend Area Command office, received Outstanding Health and Fitness Award presented to the student who excels in the area of physical fitness and health, enabling them to perform the jobs of providing emergency services to others while serving as a role model for other public safety professionals.

  • Springfield Area Command - Recruit Cale Day, age 29
  • Roseburg Area Command - Recruit Keenan Sullivan, age 29
  • Portland Area Command - Recruit Kevin Ferguson, age 25
