Oregon AMBER Alert Activated to Help Locate Child Taken in Chehalis, Washington

At the request of Chehalis, Washington Police Department, an AMBER ALERT has been activated in Oregon for a child forcibly taken from his mother at a Chehalis, Washington women's shelter Tuesday morning. On March 1, 2011 at approximately 11:13 a.m. an AMBER ALERT was issued in Washington State to help find JACEK REED, a white juvenile male, 4 years of age, 3'1" tall, weighing approximately 44 pounds, with brown buzz cut hair and blue eyes including a red mark under his left eye. He was forcibly taken at approximately 9:15 a.m. and was wearing a blue gray Mario t-shirt, blue flannel jacket, blue jeans and blue boots.

The suspect is DUSTIN REED, age 35. He is the boy's biological father and is described as a white male, 5'9" tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown hair, and blue eyes. He is believed to be using antidepressants and has access to weapons. No weapons were seen when the child was taken.

Chehalis Police Department is investigating the abduction. According to their department's news release it is "believed that the child may have sustained some injury during the abduction as he was being placed into the car", and "a friend of the mother's was assaulted by means of the vehicle as Dustin Reed was leaving the scene."

The suspect is believed to be driving a black 1995 Infiniti G20 displaying Washington license plates 617 TQP. The suspect may be headed south to Portland International Airport.
