Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers arrested two Washington residents and seized approximately 11 pounds of marijuana concealed in a vehicle during a Monday morning traffic stop on Interstate 5 north of Roseburg.

On March 3, 2008 at approximately 7:11 a.m. an Oregon State Police trooper stopped a 1998 Subaru Legacy for following too close northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 154. During the contact with the driver, VAUGHN JAMES HUNT, age 36, from Brewster, Washington, and his passenger ZACHARY MACK, age 24, from Omak, Washington, troopers received consent to search the vehicle. Troopers found several bags of marijuana. In total, approximately 11 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $27,500 was seized.

HUNT and MACK were subsequently taken into custody and lodged at the Douglas County Jail on the following charges:
  • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana
  • Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana

OSP troopers from the Roseburg Area Command were involved in the initial stop. The investigation is continuing.
