OSP Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests of Milwaukie and Sandy Residents on Drug Charges near Redmond

Oregon State Police (OSP) arrested a Milwaukie-area man and Sandy-area woman Friday afternoon on drug-related charges when a traffic stop on Highway 97 on the south end of Redmond led to the discovery of approximately 3/4 lb. of marijuana and other evidence.
 
On March 13, 2009 at approximately 5:45 p.m. OSP Recruit Trooper Zach Mickle stopped a 1991 Toyota 4-Runner with two occupants for a traffic violation on the south end of Redmond on Highway 97. Subsequent investigation during the stop revealed the occupants were in possession of a pipe with methamphetamine residue. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 3/4 lb. of marijuana, a scale, packaging material, and a large grow light. Additional glass pipes and a small amount of methamphetamine were also found.
 
The driver, JON JOSHUA GUTHRIE, age 32, from Milwaukie, and passenger AMANDA ELAINE McGEE, age 20, from Sandy, were lodged in the Deschutes County Jail on the following charges:
  • Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance - Marijuana
  • Unlawful Manufacture of Controlled Substance - Marijuana
  • Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance - Marijuana
  • Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine
 
Both were also cited for Possession of an Open Container of Alcoholic Beverage. GUTHRIE was also cited for misdemeanor Driving While Suspended. Bail was set for both suspects at $40,000.
