Office: (541) 440-3347

A Cave Junction man died Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his car and was ejected as it rolled several times off the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 about two miles south of Myrtle Creek.
According to Oregon State Police Sergeant Steve Mitchell, on March 15, 2008 at approximately 5:45 p.m. a 1988 Toyota Corolla four-door driven by PATRICK FARLEY, age 64, from Cave Junction, was southbound Interstate 5 near milepost 106 when, for unknown reasons, he lost control while moving from the right to left lane. The car initially traveled into the center grass median, came back across both southbound lanes and went off the right shoulder. The car rolled several times, ejecting the unrestrained driver before it came to a rest on its wheels about 50 feet from the freeway.
FARLEY was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Oregon State Police troopers from the Roseburg Area Command office are completing the investigation. Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Myrtle Creek Fire Department, Douglas County Medical Examiner, and ODOT assisted. The right southbound lane was blocked about 90 minutes.
