OSP SWAT Arrests Federal Fugitive Wanted on Drug Charges in Grant County

The Oregon State Police (OSP) SWAT team assisted by OSP troopers, Grant County Sheriff's Office and John Day Police Department, arrested a federal fugitive wanted on drug-related charges Thursday morning in Grant County. All questions regarding this investigation should be directed to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
On March 19, 2009 at 6:00 a.m. the OSP SWAT team served search and arrest warrants at a remote ranch north of Long Creek where they arrested JOHN CHARLES ROCK JR., age 51. ROCK was arrested without incident on an outstanding federal warrant for Conspiracy to Import Controlled Substances, Conspiracy to Possess Marijuana on Board Arriving Aircraft, and Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana. He was transported to the Grant County Jail where he is held on a no bail warrant.
Troopers assigned to the Baker City Drug Task Force out of the John Day work site are continuing the investigation in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
