A Wisconsin man was arrested Saturday evening during an Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop west of Burns when the trooper found approximately 7 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.
On March 17, 2012 at approximately 7:30 p.m. an OSP senior trooper stopped a 1996 Saturn displaying Wisconsin license plates eastbound on Highway 20 near milepost 115 for a speed violation. The lone occupant was identified as driver DAVID ANTONIO GALARZA, age 34, from Grafton, Wisconsin.
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led the trooper to discover approximately 7 pounds of marijuana concealed in a duffel bag in the car's trunk. Estimated value of the seized marijuana is $17,500.
GALARZA was arrested and lodged in the Harney County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Distribution and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance --- Marijuana.
