Two men were arrested Sunday when an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper's traffic stop east of The Dalles led to the discovery of over 4 pounds of marijuana.
On March 20, 2011 at approximately 12:32 a.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 1995 Chevrolet Astro minivan displaying Oregon license plates eastbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 92 for failure to maintain a single lane of travel. The two occupants were identified as driver TREVOR JAMES ROBERTS, age 22, from Rapid City, North Dakota, and passenger JOSEPH ARSENIO SANCHEZ III, age 22, from Gilbert, Arizona.
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led to the discovery of over 4 pounds of marijuana concealed inside a speaker box in the rear of the van. The estimated value of the seized marijuana is over $10,000.
Both men were arrested and lodged in the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facilities (NORCOR) in The Dalles for Unlawful Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana.
