Update: Victim Identified - Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 101 south of Bandon

A 41-year old Hispanic male residing in Langlois, Oregon died Saturday night in a single vehicle crash on Highway 101 south of Bandon. Next of kin notification has been confirmed and the name is being released.
According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Senior Trooper Fred Dunlap, on March 28, 2009 at approximately 10:25 p.m. a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup operated by JOSE LUIS UBINA, age 41, from Langlois, was southbound on Highway 101 near milepost 285 when it crossed into the northbound lane, left the roadway and traveled into a ditch. The pickup struck an embankment and overturned.
UBINA was not using safety restraints and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Highway conditions were wet.
OSP troopers from the Coos Bay Area Command office are continuing the investigation.
