A 67-year old Molalla man critically injured Tuesday, March 22, when he was struck while riding his bicycle by a hit-and-run driver on Highway 211 west of Molalla died this morning at a Portland area hospital. The Oregon State Police, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, is asking for your help in identifying the suspect and vehicle that drove off after hitting the man.

THOMAS CHRISTOPHER MOSSMAN, age 67, was struck by a vehicle on March 22, 2011 at about 3:30 p.m. as he rode his bicycle westbound on Highway 211 just west of Palmer Road near milepost 10. MOSSMAN was transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health Sciences University with critical injuries where he was being treated until he died March 31 at approximately 11:15 a.m.

Evidence at the scene indicates the vehicle of interest is a silver-gray mid-90's Dodge Caravan. The vehicle should have right front headlight damage, is missing the passenger side mirror, and may have missing right side door molding. After striking the bicyclist, the vehicle reportedly continued driving westbound.

Tips may be phoned in to the Oregon State Police at 1-800-452-7888.
