Florence Man Arrested Related to Ongoing Burglary Investigations

A Florence-area man was arrested last week on multiple charges related to burglary and theft investigations in Lane and Coos counties. Oregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of Lane County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), is continuing the investigation which to this point has resulted in the recovery of approximately $40,000 worth of property believed stolen.
 
On March 28, 2012, JESSE LEON JOHNSON, age 28, from Florence, was arrested and lodged in the Lane County Jail on the following charges:
  • Burglary in the First Degree
  • Theft in the First Degree (2 counts)
  • Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle
  • Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
  • Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon
 
JOHNSON was arrested when OSP, LCSO and Florence Police Department served a search warrant at a Florence-area residence related to an investigation into several reported burglaries and thefts in Lane and Coos counties. Officers located a cargo trailer loaded with property, some of which has been confirmed stolen. Recovered property included motorcycles, musical instruments, fishing gear, firearms and other miscellaneous items. The cargo trailer was also confirmed stolen.
 
OSP Senior Trooper Scott Salisbury, assisted by Deputy Kerry Boggs, is continuing the investigation.
