Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for help to locate a pickup and driver believed to be involved in an injury hit and run crash Sunday morning on the southbound lanes of Interstate 205 between the West Linn 10th Street interchange and Tualatin River.
According to OSP Senior Trooper Jeremy Richardson, on April 5, 2009 at approximately 5:20 a.m. a 1981 BMW two-door driven by KEVIN ELLSWORTH, age 54, from southeast Portland, was southbound on Interstate 205 near milepost 5 when it was struck from behind and sent careening off the right side of the freeway. The BMW hit an embankment and a tree before overturning, injuring ELLSWORTH.
A witness in the area observed a silver pickup driving recklessly southbound from where the crash scene was located. Evidence debris indicates the suspect vehicle may be a silver late 1990's to early 2000 regular cab Ford F150 pickup. The pickup should have front end damage and may be missing a headlight.
ELLSWORTH was transported initially to Meridian Park Hospital by AMR ambulance and has been transferred to Legacy Emanuel Hospital for treatment.
Anyone with information is asked to contact OSP Northern Command Center dispatch at (800) 452-7888.
OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office were assisting by West Linn Police Department.
