Oregon law enforcement officers continue to assist the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in the search for missing British Columbia residents Albert and Rita Chretien. The couple was last seen at a convenience store in Baker City, Oregon on March 19, 2011, during a scheduled trip to Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Oregon search has entered its seventh day. While the use of Search and Rescue (SAR) resources have scaled back, police patrols in Baker, Malheur, Grant and Harney Counties in Eastern and Southeastern Oregon continue to watch for any sign of the couple and their two-tone tan 2000 Chevrolet Astro van displaying British Columbia license 212 CAV.
Oregon investigators working in cooperation with RCMP also continue to follow up on all tips and investigate all leads. SAR and law enforcement resources will be available to respond as needed.
An alert bulletin has been created and sent out to law enforcement agencies and other organizations across the western half of the United States. A link to the bulletin is available for download with this release and also on the Oregon State Police website, www.oregon.gov/OSP, and the Baker City Police Department website, www.bakercitypolice.com.
Anyone interested in posting a copy of the bulletin may print it for display in visible public locations including businesses, restaurants, gas stations, and convenience and grocery stores in Baker, Malheur, Grant, and Harney counties.
