Department of Corrections Employee Resigns Following Arrest by OSP Detectives

Following a four month investigation, Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigation Division Major Crimes Section detectives arrested a Coffee Creek Correctional Facility employee Friday on official misconduct and custodial sexual misconduct charges.

On April 13, 2012 OSP detectives arrested SCHAWN JACOB RILEY, age 38, from Milwaukie, for Official Misconduct in the First Degree and Custodial Sexual Misconduct in the Second Degree. RILEY worked in the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility physical plant as a maintenance worker. The victim is an inmate at the correctional facility.

RILEY, who has been a Department of Corrections employee for 4 years, was lodged by OSP detectives at the Washington County Jail. According to Department of Corrections, RILEY resigned from employment this morning.
No other details will be released at this time.
