Four people were arrested this week related to heroin trafficking in a joint investigation involving the Lincoln County Interagency Narcotics Team (LINT) and Corvallis Street Crimes unit.

On April 11, 2012, LINT and the Corvallis Street Crimes unit conducted an investigation into reported heroin trafficking in Newport. The investigation led to the arrest of CLINTON MICHAEL WEBSTER, age 26, from Newport, for Unlawful Delivery and Possession of a Controlled Substance - Heroin. CLINTON was found in possession of approximately 2 grams of heroin.

A search warrant served later at his South Beach residence led officers to JACOB DANIEL LISI, 26 from Newport, who was frequenting the residence. During the search of the residence, which was a 24-foot fifth wheel travel trailer, evidence was seized related to the sale and delivery of heroin. LISI was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance - Heroin and Frequenting a Place where Drugs are Sold.

Continuing the investigation, LINT detectives learned a female who resides in Newport would be delivering heroin to WEBSTER'S residence. After learning her name and description of her vehicle, detectives and Newport police watched for her vehicle and spotted it about 8:00 p.m. heading for WEBSTER'S residence. Newport police stopped the vehicle, and with the help of a drug detection canine they found over 24 grams of heroin.

The car's driver, KELLY L. TRYON, age 28, from Waldport, was arrested for Unlawful Delivery and Possession of a Controlled Substance - Heroin. Her passenger, AKASHA TAMARA BERARD, age 23, from Portland, was in possession of a small quantity of suspected heroin. BERARD was also arrested and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance - Heroin.

The investigation is continuing.
