| OSP Traffic Stop Leads to 4 lbs of Marijuana, Arrest of Tacoma Man south of Wilsonville |

A Tacoma, Washington man was arrested Wednesday afternoon when an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper's traffic stop led to the discovery of approximately 4 pounds of marijuana on Interstate 5 near Aurora.
On April 13, 2011 at approximately 3:30 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 1992 Ford Crown Victoria displaying Washington license plates for a traffic violation northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 279. The vehicle's driver was identified as JOHN H. BURGESS, age 58, from Tacoma, Washington.
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led to the discovery of approximately 4 pounds of marijuana inside a duffel bag in the car's trunk. Estimated value of the seized marijuana is $10,000.
BURGESS was arrested and lodged in the Marion County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana.
