A 70-year old Vancouver, Washington man died Sunday morning when the motorcycle he was operating traveled off Highway 202 just east of the Highway 103 junction north of Jewell and collided with a power pole. As the motorcycle came out of a curve, it drifted onto the shoulder and traveled down an embankment where it collided into a power pole.
DAVIES was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was wearing a protective helmet.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Clatsop County Sheriff's Office, Elsie-Vinemaple Rural Fire Department, and ODOT. The highway was not closed during the scene investigation.
