Crime Stoppers Case #10-21 Wanted - "The Chainsaw Chicken"
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers, is asking for your help in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for cutting trees and utility poles along Highway 26 and county roads in the Cherryville area east of Sandy.
On April 11, 2010, at approximately 11:55 p.m., a woman driving a 1995 Subaru Impreza was traveling eastbound in the right lane on Highway 26 near milepost 31 when she unexpectedly came across a tree lying on the highway. The woman was unable to stop her vehicle and crashed head on into the tree, sustaining minor injuries.
Emergency personnel responding to the incident found that the tree had been purposely cut and a second cut tree in the same location was hung up among other trees which kept it from falling onto the highway.
There are at least five other known incidents in the area of Highway 26 and county roads in which trees and utility poles were purposely cut at night and fell onto roadways and power lines. Each investigation indicates the trees and utility poles are being cut with chainsaws and axes.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any unsolved felony, and you remain anonymous.  Call Crime Stoppers at 503-823-HELP (4357), leave a tip online at www.crimestoppersoforegon.com, or text 823HELP plus your tip and send it to CRIMES (274696).
