Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and their law enforcement counterparts in Oregon and Baker City are continuing the investigation into the March 19 disappearance of Albert and Rita Chretien of Penticton, British Columbia. The Chretiens were reported missing while on a trip from Penticton to Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Penticton RCMP Major Crimes Unit has followed up on all tips received to date that dealt with information from Canadian tipsters. Investigators have not received any new information placing the couple at any other place other then the last known location of Baker City, Oregon.

"As of today, the RCMP is suspending the assigned tip line because we are at a point where incoming tips have dropped off. Since the lower volume of tips can be easily managed via the normal non-emergency police service phone numbers, we are accordingly shutting down the tip line," stated RCMP Corporal Dan Moskaluk.

State, county and city police law enforcement agencies from Baker City Police Department, Baker County Sheriff's Office, Oregon State Police and other Oregon and U.S. law enforcement agencies, working in cooperation with RCMP, continue to be available to respond as needed and follow up on any new information that arises.

The RCMP and U.S. law enforcement agencies request that anyone with information related to the Chretiens or their missing vehicle contact the following agencies, their local police services, Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or:

Baker City Police Department / Baker County Sheriff's Office: 541-523-6415
Oregon State Police Southern Command Center dispatch: 541-664-4600
Penticton RCMP: 1-250-492-4300

Updates will be provided as new information develops, and will also be posted online at www.bc.rcmp.ca and www.bakercitypolice.com.
