Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into the death of an adult male found early Thursday morning on the Oregon State University (OSU) campus after he fell from a building located on the north side of the campus. The initial investigation indicates the man is not a student and OSP is unaware of any known affiliation with OSU. The death appears to not be suspicious and was the result of an intentional act.
According to Lieutenant Steve Mitchell, on April 26, 2012 at approximately 2:33 a.m. two OSU students found a critically injured 26-year old man from Corvallis lying in the parking lot north of Covell Hall. OSP troopers from the University Area Command office and Corvallis Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.
The man told the two students he fell from the roof of Covell Hall, approximately 50 feet to the area where he was found. He died while he was being transported by Corvallis Fire Department to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
