Office: (541) 567-5519

A Hermiston-area man was arrested Wednesday following a Hermiston Police Department investigation, assisted by Oregon State Police and Department of Human Services, related to the sex abuse of two small children.
"Alleged sexual crimes against minors are investigations that take an incredible amount of resouces to solve.  The technical and investigative support offered by the Oregon State Police was, and is, critical to the success of our agency," said Hermiston Police Lieutenant Jason Edmiston.
On April 9, 2009, Detective Leonard Stokoe began an investigation into the potential criminal acts against two minors reportedly committed by JEREMY LYNN SAWYER, age 32, from Hermiston.  On April 29th, SAWYER was arrested by Hermiston police and lodged in Umatilla County Jail for six counts of Sex Abuse in the First Degree and two counts of Sodomy in the First Degree.
The investigation has been forwarded to the Umatilla County District Attorney's Office.
