First Ever Live Videocast on Internet of the "National Police Week" Candlelight Vigil
For the first time, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) is teaming up with www.Officer.com to offer a free, live videocast over the Internet of the 21st Annual Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC, during "National Police Week".
On Wednesday, May 13th, the names of Oregon State Police Senior Trooper William Hakim and Woodburn Police Captain Tom Tennant will be among the names of 387 law enforcement heroes, including 133 who died in the line of duty in 2008, officially dedicated on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Again this year, thousands of people will pack the Memorial grounds to light a candle in honor of these fallen heroes and to show their support for the families left behind.
The live videocast over the Internet will start on May 13th at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). Anyone with a computer and an Internet connection can log on and appreciate the beauty and emotion of this breathtaking ceremony at the nation's monument to fallen officers.
To register for the free videocast, simply click on http://www.officer.com/events/candlelight09/register/index.jsp.  All you need to do is enter your name and email address. A few days before the vigil, you will receive an email message with instructions on how to log on to the videocast on May 13th.
