Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Traffic Crash - Interstate 5 south of Grants Pass

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into a Saturday night pedestrian-involved traffic crash two miles south of Grants Pass that resulted in the death of a Days Creek-area man.
On April 30, 2011 at approximately 10:52 p.m. area emergency personnel responded to a reported pedestrian-involved crash on Highway 99 (Rogue River Highway) near milepost 3.  The preliminary OSP investigation indicates CHARLES THOMAS, age 59, from Gold Hill, was driving a 1948 Studebaker pickup southbound on Highway 99 when it struck a pedestrian that was in the lane of travel. The pedestrian identified as RALPH DUNCAN, age 55, from Days Creek, died as a result of the crashDUNCAN was dressed in dark clothing.
OSP troopers were assisted at the scene by Josephine County Sheriff's Department, Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, American Medical Response Ambulance, and ODOT.
