Lane County District Attorney's Office

A 61-year old Creswell man was sentenced to 542 months in the state prison Tuesday after being convicted of sexually abusing his daughter over a period of seven years.
According to Detective Dusty Sprague, a fifteen year old girl reported in April, 2010 to the Lyon County Sheriff's Department in Nevada that she had been sexually abused by her father while living in Oregon. The Lyon County Sheriff's Office conducted an initial investigation and determined the crimes had occurred in Creswell, Oregon. The case was forwarded to the Lane County Sheriff's Office for initial follow-up investigation.  It was then forwarded July 2010 to the Oregon State Police Major Crimes Section in Springfield.
Following a two month OSP investigation, LARRY STARLING DUNN, age 61, from Creswell, was arrested by OSP detectives September 26, 2010 and charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse. The investigation determined DUNN repeatedly sexually abused his daughter between 2002 and 2009.
On April 29, 2011 following a long and complicated trial, DUNN was found guilty by a Lane County jury of multiple counts of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degee and Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.  On May 3, DUNN was sentenced in Lane County Circuit Court to 542 months in prison.
