Grants Pass Woman Arrested for Unlawfully Attempting to Distribute Percocet, Oxycodone Tablets

An investigation by the multi-agency Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) team led to the arrest of a 50-year old Grants Pass woman following the execution of a search warrant Monday.
On May 2, 2011 the RADE team contacted LEONDA PINEDA, age 50, from Grants Pass, as she was attempting to deliver 600 Percocet/oxycodone tablets within the city of Grants Pass. Following her arrest, a search warrant was served at her residence in the 1500 block of SW K Street where additional prescriptions, paperwork, and other evidence was seized.  PINEDA was lodged in the Josephine County Jail on charges of Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
Further investigation showed PINEDA's mother, MABEL WHITTON, age 69, also from Grants Pass, was also involved in the distribution of pharmaceutical drugs. WHITTON was cited and released at the scene for Distribution of a Controlled Substance.

The interagency narcotics RADE team is comprised of personnel from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, Oregon State Police, Josephine County Sheriff's Office, Josephine County District Attorney's Office, and the Josephine County Community Corrections.
