Southern Oregon Sex Abuse Fugitive Arrested in South Carolina

A 22-year old Jackson County man was arrested last month in South Carolina following an indictment by a Jackson County Grand Jury on 8 counts of Sexual Abuse involving three different female victims.
According to Detective Bryan Scott, on April 12, 2011, a Jackson County Grand Jury indicted TIMOTHY JOSEPH CARUTHERS, age 22, culminating a six month investigation by the Oregon State Police Criminal Investigations Division. Detctives searched for CARUTHERS for several weeks but weren't able to find him until receiving a tip he had fled to South Carolina.
The United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force assisted in locating CARUTHERS after a second tip came from a person who had heard of the search in Oregon and then viewed his information on the Southern Oregon Crime Stoppers Facebook page. The second tip resulted in a Colleton County Sheriff's Deputy arresting CARUTHERS on April 28, 2011. CARUTHERS was lodged in the Colleton County Jail and Detention Center in Walterboro, South Carolina awaiting extradion beck to Oregon.
