BCNET Drug Team Arrests Two in Baker City

Two people were arrested Thursday afternoon in Baker City when the Baker County Narcotics Enforcement Team (BCNET) found they were in possession of methamphetamine, firearms, drug paraphernalia and about $3200 cash.
 
On the afternoon of May 6, 2010 BCNET detectives got a break related to a several month investigation when a local hotel reported possible drug activity. Detectives responded and contacted two suspects, MICHAEL ANTHONY WATTS, age 31, from Milton-Freewater, and ASHLEY ANN CHASE, age 22, from Baker City.
 
Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the man and woman when BCNET detectives seized about 3/4 ounce of methamphetamine, 4 firearms, about $3200 cash, and other drug-related evidence. They were lodged at the Baker County Jail on the following charges:
 
WATTS
  • Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine Within 1000 Feet of a School
  • Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm - one of the firearms located was a loaded Glock .40 handgun unlawfully concealed in a vehicle
 
CHASE
  • Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine Within 1000 feet of a School
  • Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Supplying Contraband into a Correctional Facility
 
During the arrest operation, BCNET was assisted by uniformed officers from Baker City Police Department and Baker County Sheriff's Office.
 
BCNET is comprised of officers from OSP, Baker City Police Department, and Baker County Sheriff's Office.
