OSP Traffic Stop north of Lakeview Leads to 10 lbs. Marijuana, Arrest of Texas Man

A traffic stop by an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper last Thursday afternoon on Highway 395 north of Lakeview led to the arrest of a Texas man following the discovery of approximately ten pounds of marijuana in his vehicle. The individual was lodged at the Lake County Jail on drug-related charges.
 
According to OSP Sergeant Steve Yates, on May 13, 2010 at approximately 12:08 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a black 2010 Ford Edge displaying Tennessee license plates northbound on Highway 395 near milepost 141 for a lane use violation. Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of approximately 10 pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle. An OSP drug detection canine assisted during the stop and seizure of the estimated $25,000 worth of marijuana.
 
The vehicle's driver, GARY LANE CUNNINGHAM, age 55, from Austin, Texas was arrested and lodged in the Lake County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana.
 
OSP was assisted in the investigation an OSP Drug Enforcement Section detective, and deputies from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
