Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Friday afternoon's single vehicle fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of a Warm Springs-area man on Highway 26 about twelve miles east of Government Camp.
According to OSP Senior Trooper Michael Reel, on May 20, 2011 at approximately 2:30 p.m. a 1996 Kia Sportage sport utility was westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 68 driven by ROBERT NORMAN WARNER, age 59, from Warm Springs, when, for an unknown reason, it left the roadway and rolled over until coming to rest on its top amongst trees bordering the highway.
WARNER was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not using safety restraints.
The driver's 7-year old granddaughter received minor injuries and was transported to Mountain View Hospital in Madras for treatment. Her name is not available and she was using safety restraints.
