Sergeant Todd Thompson
Oregon State Police - Newport
Fish and Wildlife Division
(541) 265-5354 ext. 224

Oregon State Police (OSP) and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office will be offering voluntary boating safety inspections on Sunday, June 6th, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at several Lincoln County locations. The inspections will coincide with the start of "National Boating and Fishing Week".
OSP troopers and Marine Patrol deputies will offer vessel safety inspections that allow for boat owners to either obtain their 2010 Law Enforcement Safety Decals, or if boats are lacking required equipment the boat owners will be provided with a list of equipment that they need to obtain prior to future launches.
"This opportunity is a great way to ensure you are safe BEFORE you head out onto the water this fishing season," said OSP Sergeant Todd Thompson.

For more information on what equipment is required for your boat, visit www.boatoregon.com.  For information about inspection day locations, contact the Oregon State Police Newport Area Command office at (541) 265-5354.

Inspections will be held at the following locations:
  • Brown Bear Ramp - Devil's Lake
  • Depoe Bay - Public Ramp
  • South Beach Marina - Newport
  • Toledo Boat Ramp
  • Alsea Bay Boat Ramp
