Oregon State Police (OSP) learned this weekend that a passenger in a two-vehicle traffic crash near Oregon City last Thursday afternoon died from her injuries at a Portland-area hospital.
On May 20, 2010 at approximately 4:32 p.m. a 1991 Toyota pickup driven by KEITH EUGENE LLOYD, age 83, from West Linn, was turning left from Highway 213 southbound into the Clackamas Community College area on a green arrow signal when it was struck nearly head-on by a northbound 2007 Kia Rondo driven by GINA MARIE FRAIJO, age 38, from Mulino. The investigation indicates FRAIJO failed to stop at a red traffic signal for northbound traffic.
LLOYD and FRAIJO were not injured. Both were using safety restraints. The Kia's drivers side airbag deployed in the crash.
The Toyota's right front passenger CAROL ELAINE HOYT, age 76, was transported by AMR ambulance with serious injuries to Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) for treatment. She was using safety restraints.  According to the State Medical Examiner's Office, HOYT died from her injuries Friday night, May 21st, at OHSU.
OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Oregon City Police Department and Clackamas County Fire District #1 assisted at the scene.
