RADE Invetigation Leads to Arrest and Methamphetamine Seizure

A Grants Pass-area man was arrested by members of the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) team last week following an investigation that led to the seizure of approximately 1 1/4 lbs. of methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms and other evidence.
On May 18, 2010 detectives from the RADE team, with the help of OSP troopers and OSP Drug Enforcement Section, served a search warrant in the 800 block of Bower Lane in Grants Pass. In conjunction with the search warrant execution, RICKY HOWARD MAZZA, age 48, was arrested for Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, and Distribution of a Controlled Substance. Additional charges may be pending.
MAZZA was arrested after RADE detectives seized:
  • Approximately 1 1/4 lbs. of Methamphetamine, scales and packaging materials
  • Approximately one ounce of Marijuana
  • Two handguns, one of which was loaded, one stun gun, and 52 edged weapons
  • Over $3900 cash
MAZZA was lodged in the Josephine County Jail with no bail listed.

The interagency narcotics RADE team is comprised of personnel from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, Oregon State Police, Josephine County Sheriff's Office, Josephine County District Attorney's Office, and the Josephine County Community Corrections.
