The investigation and autopsy into the May 30, 2012 death of PHILLIP LLOYD FERGUSON in Harney County, Oregon confirmed the manner and cause of death was a self-inflicted single gunshot wound to the head by a small caliber firearm. The Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigation Division detectives, with the assistance of the Harney County District Attorney's Office, is completing the investigation.
FERGUSON, age 62, was sought by the FBI in relation to a fraud investigation in Indiana several years ago. In 2004, the America's Most Wanted television show highlighted the case and search for FERGUSON. Questions regarding the investigation should be directed to the FBI in Indianapolis, Indiana. FERGUSON was found deceased as he fled law enforcement officers from Harney County Sheriff's Office and FBI.
