Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigation Division detectives arrested the former director of the Redmond Proficiency Academy Thursday morning on a sex abuse charge following an investigation that is part of a Redmond Police Department investigation.

OSP Detectives Kyle Wilson and Joe Skipper arrested MICHAEL RICHARD BREMONT, age 39, on June 7, 2012 at approximately 9:30 a.m. at a relative's home in West Linn on one count of Sex Abuse in the Second Degree. At the time of his arrest, BREMONT was under house arrest awaiting trial for similar charges in Deschutes County. BREMONT was transported to the Linn County Jail.

The OSP investigation alleges while BREMONT was principal at Central Linn High School, he sexually abused a 17-year old female student between December 2005 and March 2006. Anyone with information related to the OSP investigation is asked to contact Detective Wilson at (503) 934-0355.
