A Springfield-area man was arrested by Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigations Division detectives Wednesday after he turned himself in following an eleven count indictment for sex-related crimes.
OSP detectives began an investigation in June 2009 related to allegations involving sex offenses that had been occurring for several years involving KIRK DOUGLAS NORTON, age 37, from Springfield, and known juvenile females. The investigation identified five known victims, including 4 in Oregon and one in California.
In May 2010, a Lane County Grand Jury indicted NORTON on the following eleven counts:
  • Sex Abuse in the First Degree (7 counts)
  • Sodomy in the First Degree (4 counts)
On June 9, 2010, NORTON turned himself in to OSP detectives at the OSP Springfield Area Command office. Detectives lodged NORTON in the Lane County Jail.
