One person died Sunday morning in a single motor vehicle crash southbound on Interstate 5 about five miles south of Grants Pass. The victim has not been positively identified.
On June 15, 2008 at 6:05 a.m. a 1993 Dodge Caravan driven by an unidentified adult male was southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 51 when, for an unknown reason, it left the roadway and drove onto the gravel shoulder. The van skidded and rolled several times before coming to rest on the west side of the freeway between two trees.
The male operator was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
