On June 12, 2009 at 2:54 PM, Senior Trooper Jason Hansen from the Bend Oregon State Police office stopped a 1993 Ford Explorer displaying Washington license plates on U.S. Highway 97 near milepost 141 for a traffic violation. Milepost 141 is south of Bend in Deschutes County.
The driver, 42 year old Rigoberto Garcia-Cardenas from Pasco Washington was found to be driving on a suspended Oregon drivers license. A consent search of the vehicle was obtained and located inside the vehicle were 185 small Marijuana plants, concealed in the rear of the vehicle.
Rigoberto Garcia-Cardenas was arrested, charged with Manufacture of a Controlled substance and lodged in the Deschutes County Jail. His bail is set at $40,000.00.
