Update: Fatal Traffic Crash Interstate 5 south of Grants Pass Crash Victim Identified

One person died Sunday morning in a single motor vehicle crash southbound on Interstate 5 about five miles south of Grants Pass. The victim has now been identified.
On June 15, 2008 at 6:05 a.m. a 1993 Dodge Caravan driven by RONALD HUMPHREYS age 67, was southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 51 when, for unknown reason, it left the roadway and drove onto the gravel shoulder. Mr. Humphreys attempted to regain control and veered back onto the highway before losing control. The van skidded and rolled several time before coming to rest on the west side of the freeway between two trees.
Mr. Humphreys was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Humphreys was identified by the Jackson County Medical examiners office with the assistance from Troopers from the Central Point Area Command.
At this time next of kin has not been located for Mr. Humphreys, he has resided in California, Oregon and Utah. The Jackson County Medical Examiners Office and the Oregon State Police are requesting anyone who knows where Mr. Humphreys relatives are to contact them at the following numbers.
