An OSP Trooper and two Clatsop County deputy sheriffs were shaken but uninjured following a collision between their patrol cars on Highway 101 in Warrenton.
About 10:35 PM, an OSP trooper was southbound on SR 101 at MP 7 when he saw a traffic violator going northbound on SR 101. As the trooper made a u-turn to go after the violator, his car was struck broadside by an unmarked Clatsop County sheriff's unit, which had been behind the OSP car.
The two deputies in the Sheriff's unit were treated at the scene by paramedics and declined treatment. The OSP trooper was transported to Columbia Memorial hospital in Astoria where he was treated and released.
The collision is currently under investigation by members of the Oregon State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and no citations have been issued. The names of the deputies and the trooper are not being released at this time. In addition to OSP and Clatsop County, assistance at the scene was provided by the Warrenton Fire Department and ODOT.
