Fatal Traffic Crash- Highway 78 near the Harney/Malheur County line

On June 22nd, 2009 at 3:06 p.m. Oregon State Police Troopers from the Burns worksite responded to a single vehicle fatal crash on (SR) Highway 78 near milepost 57. This in located in Harney County near the Harney/Malheur County line about 57 miles southeast of Burns, Oregon.
 
The crash occurred when a 1999 Ford Contour passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound at milepost 57 and crossed over the westbound lane and left the roadway. The vehicle rolled several times after leaving the roadway. The operator and lone occupant of the vehicle, LINDA LEA PRUYN, age 65, of Crane, was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency responders.
 
LINDA PRUYN was wearing her safety belt and the airbag deployed in the crash.
 
Oregon State Police Troopers (OSP) from the Burns worksite were assisted on scene by the Harney County Sheriff's Office, Harney EMS and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
