Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 126E east of McKenzie Bridge

A Redmond area man died Monday night in a single vehicle crash on Highway 126E about thirteen miles east of McKenzie Bridge.
According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Senior Trooper Blaine Hlebechuk, on June 23, 2008 at approximately 9:10 p.m. a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt four-door driven by KENNETH GENE SORENSON, age 56, from Redmond, was westbound on Highway 126E near milepost 9 when it lost control negotiating a curve and traveled across the highway into an embankment. The car rolled and came to rest on its top.
SORENSON was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was using safety restraints.
OSP troopers from the Springfield Area Command office are completing the investigation. Local emergency responding agencies and ODOT assisted at the scene.
