Death Investigation - US Forest Service Road 57 near Lone Pine Road in Jefferson County

An Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper patrolling on a rural Jefferson County road between Madras and Prineville late Friday night found a Redmond man in his vehicle deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
 

On June 25, 2010 at 11:21 p.m. Senior Trooper Clint Prevett was patrolling in rural Jefferson County when he observed a blue Dodge Neon parked on US Forest Service Road 57 near Lone Pine Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, Prevett saw the operator had a gunshot wound to his head. Jefferson County EMS was dispatched and upon arrival confirmed the 54-year old man from Redmond was deceased.
 
OSP troopers from the Madras and Prineville work sites investigating the death advised the cause of death appears to be from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Redmond police notified next of kin.
