Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigation Division detectives are continuing the investigation into the death of an unidentified young female whose body was found early Friday morning east of the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 about a mile north of Woodburn. OSP is assisted by detectives from Salem Police Department, Keizer Police Department, and Marion County Sheriff's Office, the Marion County Medical Examiner, and Marion County District Attorney's Office.

By early Friday afternoon, OSP had received more than 35 tips but none leading to positively identifying the victim. Some of the tips are related to a missing Sacramento County, California 19-year old female for which investigators confirmed she is not the victim in this case.

An updated description of the victim is a white female, late teens to early 20s in age, 5'01" - 5'02", 125 lbs, with shoulder length brown/auburn colored hair and blue eyes. She was wearing black jeans, dark colored t-shirt, tan / black plaid zipper sweatshirt with a solid gray hood, and tan colored hiking style boots. She has no tattoos, a pierced navel, double pierced ears, and a one inch scar left of the spine on her back.

The following three photographs are released to help identify the victim:

An autopsy was done Friday afternoon at the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office. The autopsy determined the cause of death was from head trauma.

On June 29, 2012 at approximately 5:17 a.m. several reports were called in regarding a possible body spotted off the shoulder of the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near milepost 273. OSP, Woodburn Police Department, and Woodburn Fire Department responded to the scene and confirmed there was a deceased body at that location along the grass line east of the traffic lanes.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call OSP Northern Command Center dispatch. Phone calls in Oregon may be made to 800-452-7888. Calls from outside Oregon may be made to (503) 375-3555. Email tips in this case can be sent to crimetips2OSP@state.or.us. Emails should include specific details including the type of case and tip information related to the criminal investigation. Even though tips may be received anonymously, email authors are encouraged to provide contact information for follow-up by the investigator(s), if needed.

Investigators would also like to speak to anyone who was traveling along Interstate 5 near Woodburn overnight who may have seen a female matching that description walking in the area or any vehicles stopped on the side of the northbound lanes prior to 5:17 a.m.
