Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Sunday morning's two-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 38 west of Elkton that resulted in the death of a 74-year old man.

According to OSP Sergeant Dave Randall, on July 17, 2011 at about 10:30 a.m. a 2002 Chevrolet S10 pickup driven by JERRY CLARK, age 74, from Langlois, was westbound on Highway 38 west of Elkton. For an unknown reason, the pickup traveled partially into the eastbound lanes where it collided with a 2000 Peterbilt truck and semi-trailer operated by MONTE AYERS, age 50, from Albany.
CLARK was pronounced deceased at the scene.
AYERS was not injured.

OSP troopers from the Roseburg Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

OSP was assisted at the scene by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Elkton Fire & Rescue and ODOT. Highway 38 was closed until about 4:45 p.m.
