An Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper located a missing 79-year old Springfield, Oregon man during a traffic stop early Friday morning off Interstate 205 in the West Linn area. The man was last seen Thursday afternoon when he left home to go to a store and didn't return.
On July 22, 2011 at approximately 2:33 a.m. Trooper Alex Monarch stopped a white Toyota four-door on Highway 43 just west of Interstate 205 after observing several traffic violations. Upon contact, the driver appeared confused and disoriented. A routine check determined the driver, HARRY SAM SIANIS, age 79, from Springfield, was listed as a missing person by Springfield Police Department after they took a report Thursday evening. OSP notified Springfield police that SIANIS was found and his daughter was contacted.
The vehicle was secured at a nearby parking lot and Monarch transported him to the OSP Portland office where he was seen by AMR paramedics. He was returned to his daughter after she drove to Portland to get him.
