Traffic Stop Leads to 4 lbs. of Marijuana, One Arrest near Eugene

An Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop early Tuesday morning on Interstate 5 near Eugene led to the arrest of a Pasco, Washington man following the discovery of approximately four (4) pounds of marijuana in the vehicle.
 
On July 28, 2009 at approximately 12:35 a.m., an OSP trooper from the Springfield Area Command office stopped a 1997 Acura bearing Washington license plates northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 193 for a speed-related violation. The lone occupant of the vehicle was identified as PASCUAL VERDUZCO, age 25, from Pasco, Washington.
 
Investigative leads developed during the traffic stop led to the discovery of approximately four (4) pounds of processed marijuana concealed in the car's trunk area.
 
VERDUZCO was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail for the Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Marijuana.
 
The estimated street value of the marijuana is nearly $12,000.
